What Cops Are Looking For This Halloween

On Behalf of | Oct 31, 2014 | Criminal Law

What are cops looking for this Halloween? It isn’t candy. It’s isn’t your unique Halloween costume. Like some holidays or events such as St. Patrick’s Day or Cinco de Mayo, Halloween is a perfect time for law enforcement to crack down on crimes like DUIs. Halloween has become more of an adult themed day and night, rather than as it was originally geared for children. Whether adults are house party hopping, or taking their candy and sexy costumes to bars and clubs downtown, the police will be stalking them like Freddie or Jason behind the bushes.

Besides pulling over drivers who may or may not be over the blood-alcohol limit, the police will be searching for any kind of vandalism. Teens who don’t get candy from certain houses better not “toilet paper” those homes. You can also expect the police to zero-in on other naughty activities. Fights, public urination and open containers of alcohol also figure to keep the police busy on this Halloween night.

That doesn’t mean you can’t enjoy this Halloween Friday. Everything in moderation, and remember to consider the fact that law enforcement has also been preparing for Halloween. Forget the couple dressed up as sexy cops. You have enough to worry about. Have a fun and safe Halloween, and remember to hire a skilled defense attorney if you are arrested tonight.
