Disney worker accused of molesting

On Behalf of | Apr 11, 2014 | Child Abuse

A crew member on the Disney Dream cruise ship was arrested yesterday for allegedly molesting a 13 year old girl.

Disney contacted Port Canaveral police to report that one of their workers was suspected of molesting a young girl. Disney even notified the Coast Guard, as well as the FBI.

The incident allegedly occurred during the ships turnaround day. He was arrested on two counts of lewd or lascivious molestation and one count of false imprisonment. As of last night, he was being held at the Brevard County jail.

Our law firm has dealt with these cases countless times. These accusations, charges are no joke. Over the years we have seen some clients, who are accused of lewd or lascivious molestation, get a little confused about the severity of the charge and how different it is from lewd or lascivious battery.

Though it is slightly less severe than lewd or lascivious battery charges, lewd or lascivious molestation charges can still bring harsh penalties.

It’s important for anyone in a situation like this to have an attorney who will search for the truth and ask the tough questions. We can investigate the case to the fullest extent. We may be able to get the charges reduced based on mitigating factors depending on your age (Are you under 21 years old?), the actions of the minor involved (Were they the initiator or a willing participant?), and your mental state (Are you currently or have you ever received special treatment for a mental disorder?).
