Drug dealer charged with murder of girlfriend

On Behalf of | May 10, 2014 | Murder Suspect

Whenever a woman is killed, whomever she was recently romantically involved with usually ends up becoming a prime suspect in the case. So this breaking news comes as no real surprise.

A boyfriend who allegedly shot and killed his girlfriend inside her home is behind bars and charged with murder. The boyfriend was arrested early yesterday morning in Orlando and was booked into the Orange County Jail on a first-degree murder charge. He first told deputies his girlfriend was shot and killed during a home invasion, but deputies were suspicious and  listed him as a prime suspect for the murder.

He was arrested after authorities found cocaine in the Orlando home during the murder investigation, but he was then charged with possession of a firearm by a convicted felon and possession of a stolen firearm. According to the arrest report, he admitted to being a drug dealer and a member of the Latin Kings gang. As if this didn’t make matters worse, two young children were inside the home when their mother was shot and killed. He has had run-ins with law enforcement before. He served time for sexual battery on a child between the age of 12 and 16 back in 2006. What does his legal future look like? In one word: Bleak.

A first degree murder conviction will end up with a very stiff sentence. He could be looking at life in prison, unless his defense lawyer is able to get him a lesser sentence with the possibility of parole someday.
