Arrested for Firearms

Your 2nd amendment rights can only protect you for so long. Without the proper license and permit for your firearm, you can be arrested. Some of the most common charges include: carrying a concealed weapon without a permit, hunting without a license, being a convicted felon caught possessing a fireman, unlawful discharge of a deadly weapon (such as shooting a gun up in the air), etc.

Over in a Central FL high school, an interesting gun case has occurred. A student was arrested after a handgun was found in his vehicle on campus. School security found a .40-caliber gun that was loaded with four rounds in the magazine, in the student's car in the parking lot. But there is more to it than just that.

When you think of a high school student that drives, you may think of a 16 or 17 or 18 year-old. If they are a minor, then it is a very serious situation if they have firearms. Except in this case, the student is 20 years-old. Talk about the big guy on campus!

A classmate notified the school administration that the student had a gun in his vehicle. The 20 year-old already had a defense prepared and he hadn't even hired an attorney yet! He told the deputy that he brought the gun on campus because he goes hog hunting after school sometimes and he forgot that he had it inside his vehicle.

While that seems like a logical defense, it did not stop his arrest. He is also facing disciplinary action from the school district. This is certainly a case to keep an eye on.
